Salt

Salt,
salty tears dissolve in the ocean,
in the rain,
folded into something larger than me.

Each drop slips unseen,
but together they carry
ships,
fish,
and the weight of continents.

I sweat,
I cry,
I vanish into brine –
and still the tide moves,
offering a whole world for others to inhabit.

The sea remembers what I forget:
that even a single grain of salt
is not lost,
but part of the cosmic ocean
that holds everything afloat.
